Steps to Enable Gmail IMAP Setting
- Firstly, login to your Gmail account and click on the Settings Gear icon.
- After that, choose See all settings option from Google Mail.
- Thereafter, you will see all Gmail settings. From here, choose Forwarding and POP/IMAP option and then enable IMAP as you can see the respective screenshot.
- No need to change other settings, just click on the Save Changes button.
How to Create a Google App Password in a Gmail Account?
If you are looking to download Google Gmail emails using a third-party application so, it is necessary to enable IMAP settings and Generate app password in Gmail account. if you face a login issue you need to disable two-factor verification or create an app password and use that app password as an email password to login into the software.

- Go to your Google account.
- Click on security.
- Under “Signing in to Google,” select App Passwords. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because 2-step Verification is not set up for your account.
- Choose Select app and Select the device which you are using and click on Generate
- The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.
